1982 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia “The Vagobond”

  1. Rebuilt Subaru EJ25 Engine, Stinger Engine Management System tuned for 180 hp and 190ft lb torque, KEP Stainless headers, KEP Exhaust, 140 Amp Alternator, Custom Head Shield, Kennedy Engineering Adapter Plate, Cross Member, Headers, and Muffler.
  2. Brand new cooling system front to back with stainless steel coolant pipes, new radiator and all new hoses.
  3. Air Cooled VW 091 DK Transmission with Peloquin Limited Slip Differential, South African Oiling Plates, Steel Caged Bearings, Weddle Thrust Plate, Weddle 3rd and 4th gears, new clutch and flywheel. 
  4. North American High Top, professionally installed by VanLab, Finished on the inside with custom bulkhead, bracing, prodex insulation, and marine carpeting headliner.
  5. Custom Spice Rack cabinet built by VanLab with sliding storage doors, rear storage pocket, 12v sockets, Voltmeter, and independent switches for 12v fan mounted to the underside, LED kitchen light strip, and Voltmeter
  6. Van Cafe LED Headlights with new GoWesty 7” headlight brackets
  7. Small Car in Dash Air Conditioning unit
  8. South African Grille & Vision X LED Light Cannons with Euro Amber Lenses
  9. Stock Front Bumper in Powder Coated Black
  10. GoWesty Rear Bumper with GoWesty Swing arm, Universal Carrier and Hitch with Shackle

LifePo4 Lithium 100AH Auxiliary battery system mounted under bench seat charged via Solar Panels and Alternator via a Victron Lithium battery combiner and NOCO Genius GENM1 4 Amp battery charger for charging via shore power. All camper electronics are powered via this system and separately fused. All camper wiring was replaced.
  29. LP Tank has been removed and replaced by a LP Bottle setup inside of the sink cabinet
  30. Shurflo Faucet, new fresh water hoses throughout, new in tank water pump
  31. Van has been stripped to the frame, minor rust repaired where found behind the sink cabinet with POR 15, sound deadening material was applied to the whole rear of the van followed by new insulation. All Westfalia cabinetry was rebuilt and reinforced where necessary to eliminate rattles and for longevity.
  32. ARB Air compressor mounted in a hidden compartment above the truck-fridge
  33. New GoWesty Hook up Boxes, Fresh Water Tank, 110v Electrical, and Air Compressor Quick Connect Fitting, Hook up box decals by NRWSTR
  34. Heavy Duty “LT” Truck Mirrors
  35. 4” Pioneer Speakers on doors and in rear cabinet. Alpine UTE-62BT Bluetooth Stereo System. 12” Fosgate Subwoofer in custom made enclosure sitting atop the Eberspacher furnace under the bench seat. Subwoofer is driven by a 600Watt Alpine Amplifier.
  36. All New Interior Black ABS Panels by Werksberg with ABS door pockets
  37. All new tan curtains by GoWesty
  38. LED Footwell lighting connected to door switches by VanagonLED’s
  39. LED Rear Side Markers, connected to rear turn signals to blink along with rear turn signals.
  40. All exterior light bulbs upgraded to LED bulbs for brightness and longevity
  41. Dual Nozzle Windshield Washers and Extended Length Wiper Kit by GoWesty, new windshield washer fluid lines ran from fluid tank.
  42. Schwenk Springs with custom fabricated metal spacers raising the Van by approx 1.5" all around.

  45. BMW E30 Brake Booster, 20% larger than stock for improved brake pedal feel
  46. New Brake and Clutch Master Cylinders
  47. Steering column mounted LED readout for outside temperature, voltage and time
  48. South African Mudflaps front and rear
  49. Windows out paint job, changed color from Assuan Brown to 1959 Ford Surf Blue Poly, (primer, followed by 4 coats of paint and clear coat)
  50. Front Signal Light Brush Guards by T3 Technique
  51. Completely new fuel system front to back, new fuel tank, fuel tank seals, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel sending unit
  52. GoWesty Hard Start Relay and TDI Starter Motor
  53. New Tie Rods, Upper Ball Joints, and Lower Ball Joints

  55. Powdercoated Stove/Sink Cabinet Faceplate.

  57. European issue Westfalia toilet box, sits behind the passenger seat, Box doubles as a footrest when passenger seat is swiveled around.
  58. GoWesty LED 3rd brake light mounted in top of the rear hatch window.
  59. Custom headliner throughout, matching carpeting surrounding interior windows replacing original trim. Headliner is a marine grade carpeting material that both insulates and allows for attachment of velcro storage pockets and accessories.
  60. All exterior rubber has been replaced. Window seals, door seals, etc. Seals were sourced from West Coast Metric.
  61. Custom Sliding rear Westfalia Cabinet doors and Spice Rack cabinet door with matching drawer above Truckfridge. Work done by Rhino Design Studio.

  69. Custom Fabricated Roof Rack that goes overtop of the High Top, it has built in side facing LED flood lights, a surfboard rack and mount for the Fiamma awning. It is made of steel tubing and attaches to the rain gutters on either side of the van. It has a hinged 100w solar panel on the top.
