Hi, I’m Shane Jordan. I bought my first Westfalia in 2014 and began restoring it myself. Working on my own vans taught me how much patience, attention, and practical problem-solving these vehicles need. Traveling in them taught me why that work matters.

A van can be your everyday transport, your home on the road, or the keeper of years of family memories. I understand the attachment because I share it. Vanagons are part of my daily life: I build, drive, test, and keep learning from them.

When you bring your VW to us, you communicate directly with me. Behind each project is our workshop team, bringing the different skills of a restoration together in one place.

In early 2018, a friend and I left San Diego and headed south through Baja in my Westfalia. I had spent time traveling around the United States and living in the van, but most of the peninsula was new to me.

With every mile, the landscape opened up and life seemed to slow down. By the time we reached La Paz, I was already falling for the place. Then a chance encounter led to a double date with a local woman and her best friend. That woman was Karen, who is now my wife.

A few months later, I sold my houseboat, bought a 42-foot sailboat in La Paz, and began learning to sail while we built a life together. What had started as a road trip changed the direction of my life.

In 2020, with the birth of our son and a changing world around us, I knew I wanted to put down roots. Restoring Volkswagens gave me a way to turn something I loved into a business here in Baja.

When I first opened the shop, I wasn’t sure whether anyone would come. Since then, owners have trusted us with vans full of their own stories, and our family has grown to four. I’m grateful for the clients who have made this possible and for the team whose work brings each project to life.

Family, craftsmanship, and honest relationships shape how we work. For us, La Paz is home: the place where we are raising our children and building a business we want to be proud of for years to come.

Our La Paz facility brings bodywork, a dedicated full-size paint booth, mechanical service, and upholstery under one roof. Working side by side helps us coordinate the stages, check how parts fit together, and keep the finished van in view throughout the build.

That can mean repairing rust and renewing paint, addressing brakes, suspension or cooling, refreshing an interior, or planning a more extensive restoration. We agree on the work around your van’s condition, your priorities, and how you intend to use it. Our engine work focuses on stock Vanagon replacements; we do not currently offer engine conversions.
