Living the van life in Baja.
Our former Baja rental partnership with Peace Vans was featured in Sunset’s Summer 2024 issue. The story follows a vintage Volkswagen caravan through Baja California Sur, with Shane Jordan helping lead the journey.
Written by Krista Simmons, with photography by Thomas J. Story, it captures the appeal of traveling in these vans: a slower pace, time outdoors, and the people and places that make a road trip memorable.
It’s a special part of our story—bringing the vans we care about into the landscapes that first made us fall in love with Baja.

02 / The build that started it
A Westfalia, a road trip, and a different way of living.
Made in partnership with Speedhut, Road Trip of a Lifetime introduces Shane Jordan and his 1982 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. It documents his first van build and the personal story behind taking a classic camper on the road.
The film gives you a closer look at the van, its details, and the thinking behind the build. The accompanying Speedhut article is another way to explore that early chapter of the LiveTheVanLife story.

03 / A traveler’s perspective
All We Roam visits Baja & our workshop.
Follow our German friends from All We Roam as they explore Baja California Sur and La Paz in their VW T3 Syncro, including a stop at our shop.
The episode places the workshop within the wider journey: traveling in a classic Volkswagen, discovering southern Baja, and meeting people along the way. It’s a chance to see this part of the world through another van traveler’s eyes.
