Terms & Conditions

Open conversations. Clear expectations. No gotchas.

Trust is a big part of handing over your van. We want you to understand the work, the costs, and what happens next before you commit. That is why we share our terms openly, where you can read them at your own pace.

Our approach is simple: agree on the scope, explain what we find, and talk through changes before additional work goes ahead. Classic vehicles can reveal hidden problems, but the process for dealing with them should be clear. If anything here is unclear, ask us. We are happy to explain it before you sign.

The full agreement

Restoration & repair terms.

By signing the Work Order, the Customer confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the Work Order, Estimate, these Terms and Conditions, and any subsequently approved change orders.

01

Authorized work and scope

LiveTheVanLife Restorations ("LiveTheVanLife") is responsible only for the services, repairs, parts, and materials specifically identified in the Work Order, Estimate, or a change order approved by the Customer. Any additional services require the Customer's authorization before the additional work is performed, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect the vehicle or persons from imminent harm.

02

Hidden or additional conditions

Classic and previously restored vehicles may contain corrosion, body filler, accident damage, improper prior repairs, mechanical defects, electrical problems, or other conditions that are not visible before disassembly or testing. If additional conditions are discovered, LiveTheVanLife will notify the Customer and provide information concerning the additional work, cost, and expected scheduling impact. Additional work will not be performed without the Customer's approval. Delays while awaiting the Customer's decision, parts, materials, or payment will extend the estimated completion date.

03

Estimated completion dates

Any completion date or timeframe provided by LiveTheVanLife is a good-faith estimate and is not a guaranteed delivery date. Completion may be affected by hidden conditions, changes in the scope of work, parts availability, supplier or subcontractor delays, customer-requested changes, delayed approvals or payments, weather, force majeure, and other circumstances reasonably outside LiveTheVanLife's control. LiveTheVanLife will communicate material changes to the estimated schedule.

04

Payment schedule

Unless the Work Order states otherwise, 50% of the approved Estimate is due at vehicle drop-off, 25% is due when the project is approximately halfway complete, and the remaining balance, including all approved additional work, is due when LiveTheVanLife notifies the Customer that the work is complete. Payment is due upon completion and is not postponed until the Customer arrives to inspect or collect the vehicle. The vehicle will not be released until all amounts due have been paid in cleared funds, subject to applicable law.

05

Accepted payment methods

LiveTheVanLife accepts cash in Mexican pesos or U.S. dollars, Venmo, Zelle, and wire transfer, subject to availability and any restrictions disclosed at the time of payment. Prices and storage charges stated in these Terms are denominated in Mexican pesos. When payment is made in U.S. dollars, the applicable exchange rate will be disclosed to the Customer at the time of payment.

06

Replaced parts

If the Customer would like any replaced parts saved for collection, the Customer must notify LiveTheVanLife in writing at the start of work and identify the parts to be saved. Unless requested in writing at the start of work, replaced parts will not be retained, except where required by applicable law. Parts requested for return must be collected with the vehicle. Parts that must be returned to a manufacturer or supplier as part of a warranty or core exchange, are hazardous waste, or cannot legally or safely be returned cannot be saved for the Customer. Parts not requested or not collected with the vehicle may be disposed of appropriately, subject to applicable law.

07

Personal items

At drop-off, the Customer must provide LiveTheVanLife with a complete written inventory of all personal belongings left in the vehicle. The Customer should remove all valuables and any items not needed for the work before drop-off. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LiveTheVanLife is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle or otherwise left with LiveTheVanLife. This clause does not exclude liability for LiveTheVanLife's negligence, willful misconduct, or any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

08

Limited one-year warranty

Unless otherwise stated in the Work Order, LiveTheVanLife warrants the paint and bodywork performed by LiveTheVanLife, the parts supplied by LiveTheVanLife, and the labor performed by LiveTheVanLife for one year from the date the completed vehicle is delivered to the Customer.

This warranty applies to defects attributable to the covered parts or LiveTheVanLife's workmanship. It does not cover normal wear and tear, routine maintenance, misuse, neglect, accidents, theft, vandalism, overheating, environmental or road damage, deterioration of an existing or previously repaired condition, failures outside the authorized scope of work, or defects in customer-supplied parts.

The Customer must notify LiveTheVanLife promptly after discovering a suspected warranty issue and must provide LiveTheVanLife a reasonable opportunity to inspect and remedy it. Except in an emergency or when LiveTheVanLife gives prior written authorization, the vehicle must be returned to LiveTheVanLife for warranty inspection and repair. LiveTheVanLife is not responsible for unauthorized repairs performed by another shop. A third party's work will affect the warranty only to the extent that the third-party work caused, altered, aggravated, or prevented proper diagnosis of the claimed problem. Nothing in this provision limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be limited or waived.

09

Inspection and acceptance

When the work is complete, the Customer is expected to inspect the vehicle before it is driven, shipped, or otherwise removed from LiveTheVanLife's premises. The Customer should promptly identify any visible concern so that LiveTheVanLife has an opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, correct it before the vehicle leaves. The Customer's inspection, acceptance, or removal of the vehicle does not waive the written warranty or any non-waivable rights under applicable law.

10

Warranty-related and delay expenses

Except to the extent otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed to in writing, LiveTheVanLife does not reimburse travel, lodging, rental-vehicle, towing, shipping, transportation, loss-of-use, lost-income, or other incidental expenses arising from project delays or warranty service.

11

Completion, pickup, and storage

LiveTheVanLife will notify the Customer using the contact information supplied by the Customer when the vehicle is ready. The Customer is responsible for keeping that information current. The Customer has 30 calendar days after notice of completion to collect the vehicle without a storage charge. This pickup grace period does not postpone the final-payment due date.

Beginning on the 31st calendar day, uncovered storage is MXN $2,000 for each commenced 30-day storage period. Covered storage, when available and separately accepted by LiveTheVanLife, is MXN $2,500 for each commenced 30-day storage period. Storage is billed in complete 30-day increments, including any partial increment. Covered storage is not guaranteed and depends on available space. Storage charges must be paid before the vehicle is released.

12

Customer's responsibility to retrieve the vehicle

The Customer must pay all amounts due and arrange collection or authorized transportation of the vehicle within the applicable pickup period. Unless LiveTheVanLife separately agrees in writing to arrange transportation, the Customer is responsible for all pickup, shipping, customs, import/export, insurance, and transportation arrangements and expenses.

13

Unclaimed vehicles and failure to respond

If the Customer fails to collect the vehicle and does not respond to reasonable contact attempts for 90 consecutive days after notice of completion, LiveTheVanLife may notify the appropriate authorities and pursue any collection, storage, lien, judicial, or other remedies available under applicable law. The vehicle will not automatically become the property of LiveTheVanLife and will not be sold, transferred, dismantled, or parted out except through a legally authorized process. The Customer remains responsible for unpaid authorized services, parts, storage, and legally recoverable collection expenses.

14

Cleaning before delivery

Before the completed vehicle is delivered to the Customer, LiveTheVanLife will carry out a basic cleaning of the interior and exterior. This includes washing the exterior, vacuuming the seats and carpets, and wiping down visible surfaces. This basic cleaning does not include a complete, top-to-bottom vehicle detail. Customers who would like a full detail should contact LiveTheVanLife for pricing and to arrange our detailing services separately.

15

Fire, natural disasters, and events beyond our control

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LiveTheVanLife is not responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle, parts, accessories, or personal belongings caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including fire, wildfire, flooding, storm surge, hurricanes, tropical storms, severe wind or rain, lightning, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, and other natural disasters.

Customers should maintain appropriate insurance during restoration, repair, and storage, and confirm with their insurer that coverage applies in Mexico and while the vehicle is at a repair or restoration workshop.

16

Acknowledgment

By signing, the Customer confirms that they are the vehicle's owner or are legally authorized by the owner to approve the work; have reviewed the authorized scope of work and payment schedule; understand the risks and uncertainties associated with restoration and repair of classic vehicles; have had an opportunity to ask questions about these Terms and Conditions; and agree to be bound by the Work Order, approved Estimate, approved change orders, and these Terms and Conditions.
