Find the right Westfalia refrigerator manual

RM182, RM182B and RM184 EGI/EGP are not interchangeable labels. Start with the refrigerator actually installed in your camper, then choose its operating or service document.

1. Read the plate

Copy the full model and suffix.

2. Match the version

Check voltage, gas details and serial number.

3. Choose the document

Operating instructions or service reference.

Identify the appliance before the van

A camper’s year or market is a useful starting point, but a replacement refrigerator may have different requirements. Photograph the accessible appliance rating plate and record the complete model, serial number, electrical supply and gas-pressure information. Keep that photograph with your van’s records.

The RM184 EGI/EGP instructions locate the rating plate inside the refrigerator at the upper left. The archived RM182 operating instructions identify the same location for that version. If your label is missing or unreadable, have a qualified appliance technician identify the unit before choosing parts or a gas regulator.

Choose your model

Model includes the B suffix

Dometic RM182B

The manufacturer’s August 1982 service manual, Edition 2, includes operating instructions, installation, removal, wiring and fault-finding. Use the operating section for the controls; service procedures are a reference for appropriately qualified work.

Match EGI or EGP exactly

Electrolux RM184 EGI / EGP

This operating and installation document covers both variants and distinguishes their controls. Match the supply voltage and gas pressure on your appliance plate. A familiar cabinet shape or a connector that fits does not establish compatibility.

Check the electrical version

Electrolux RM182

The archive’s earlier RM182 operating instructions describe a 220 V mains version. Do not assume this is the correct electrical document for a North American camper or an RM182B. Compare the plate and the controls with the manual first.

Operating instructions, wiring or parts?

Start with operating instructions when identifying controls and power modes. A service manual addresses installation and repair. A wiring diagram or exploded-parts sheet answers a narrower question and does not replace the complete appliance instructions.

Our filtered Westfalia refrigerator library also includes RM184 wiring, parts references, RM185 R material and replacement-fridge planning. The complete Westfalia library remains the main catalogue for camper handbooks and other appliances.
