1974 VW Thing

Offered at $11,500 USD or 200k MXN Pesos

Completely rebuilt 1974 Volkswagen Thing (Called Safari in Mexico). I purchased it in Chiapas several years ago and drove it back to La Paz. It is Mexican plated and I have the original factura (invoice) for it so you can register it in your name here in Mexico or import it to the States. It has a rebuilt 1776 motor by Geraldos VWs here in La Paz, as well as a rebuilt transmission. It has newer tires, coil over shocks, new master cylinder, GPS speedometer, fuel level sender, and more.

It also has a roll bar with a top to keep the sun off you but you still get the top down experience.
All of the seats have been reupholstered in a very nice houndstooth fabric.
This is a very cool ride, drives great, has plenty of power and turns heads everywhere it goes.

Work performed and approximate costs (all price are in USD):
Full Paint Job in stock Avocado Green: $8000
Front and rear seat upholstery in houndstooth: $1500
Engine Rebuild and upgrades: $2500
Transmission Rebuild: $1600
Tires: $700
Sony Bluetooth Stereo with 4x speakers and amplifier with Subwoofer mounted under rear bench seat: $1000
GPS Speedometer: $250
Master Cylinder and Front Brake Disc upgrade (had front drum brakes stock): $1250
New fuel level sender and fuel gauge: $250
Roll Bar with removable vinyl sun cover: $1500
Coil over shocks: $800
Ball joints, tie rods: $500
Total: $19,850 (these were costs paid in addition to the purchase of the vehicle)
