Traveling through Baja in your T3?
Looking for knowledgable and reliable maintainance and repairs? Look no further.

We are now offering Vanagon T3 repair services out of our shop in La Paz, Baja California Sur Mexico 🇲🇽.
While the vast majority of the work we do is for larger restoration projects, we are offering smaller services by appointment. Need an oil change (with the correct filter!)? Is your motor not running properly? Bad alternator? Broken CV joint?
No problemo.
Mexico is full of mechanics, but finding one you can trust to get the job done, and done right, is a huge issue. Even if you find a decent mechanic, Mexican timetables are a bit different than what we are used to back home. We source the correct parts, and quote accurate timelines. Need a strange part for your van from the states or elsewhere? We can assist you in getting it here (much harder than it sounds).
We are not the least expensive service option. But if quality, honesty, and customer service are valuable to you, then give us a shout. We're always happy to help.

Frequently asked questions
What is your hourly rate?
Our hourly rate is $100 USD per hour, however we will often quote a price for a project rather than do work by the hour. Just depends on what needs doing.
Does your work carry a warranty?
Unless stated otherwise, any mechanical work carries a 90 day warranty on parts and labor. Any warranty work must be performed by us here in La Paz. We cannot compensate you for work done elsewhere.
How long does it take?
All depends on what needs doing, our availability, and yours. An oil change and a tune up can usually be done same day, larger or more complicated repairs might take several days or more.
I need a strange or out of stock part from the states, how does that work and how long does it take?
Unfortunately the reality is that you are 1000 miles from the U.S. border, in a foreign country with its own ways of doing things, customs dutys, taxes, etc. Things don't happen fast in Mexico as they do in the States, Canada, or Europe. It typically takes about 2 weeks for us to get a part from the states (assuming we don't have it). First the item needs to be sent to our freight forwarder in San Diego, then brought across the border where it goes through customs and a 16% tax is imposed, then it is shipped from Tijuana to La Paz, and finally to us. Its a lot of work and responsibility and there is a markup for our time. We have found a few vendors whom we work with that can send us things directly with UPS which can be much faster, but still about a week. Please understand, this is just the way it is here and many of these variables are completely beyond our control.
We are conveniently located in central La Paz (Zona Centro) a few blocks from the world famous Malecon (location shown on map is approximate)
